Cassandra Sproch, Communications Professional and movie/TV series reviewer, shares her favorite free streaming services for new media, tv series and movies:
Pluto TV
Pluto TV is a free streaming platform from Paramount. Pluto falls in the category of a Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) service. The platform’s programming includes movies, news + opinion, reality, game shows, daytime TV, comedy, classic TV and more.
The Roku Channel
Did you know that The Roku Channel is not exclusive to Roku devices? That’s right! Cassandra Sproch was pleasantly surprised to learn that the Roku Channel is available for streaming across all smart TVs and devices. Cassandra turns to the Roku Channel for news, with her favorite streams hosted by ABC News Live, AccuWeather Now and America’s Voice.
Kanopy
Kanopy is the best free streaming platform for educational videos and documentaries. Cassandra Sproch enjoys utilizing Kanopy as an educational tool for learning more about the world, on a global scale. Although the platform is lesser-known, Cassandra appreciates the unique value that Kanopy offers.
Tubi
Tubi is another Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST) program. The library of Comedy, Horror and Family Movies on Tubi is quite impressive for a free platform. Cassandra Sproch has even watched shows on Tubi that you can find on Netflix, Hulu and other platforms.
Crackle
Crackle is owned and operated by Sony Pictures, with a major stake maintained by Chicken Soup for the Soup (remember those books?! Cassandra Sproch sure does! And she absolutely loves the content available on Crackle!) You can find content from A24, A&E Networks, Epic Pictures, Lionsgate and so many other great content providers on Crackle.
YouTube
Last but certainly not least, Cassandra Sproch’s favorite free streaming platform of all: YouTube! YouTube is plentiful with free content created by major production companies, news stations and professional creatives. Best of all, there is tons of independently produced projects on YouTube. TV & Movie Reviewer Cassandra’s go-to free video watching platform is and always will be YouTube!
